Benbradagh care home is able to offer permanent & respite care for the generally frail, elderly or older people with Alzheimer's and dementia over the age of 65. We appreciate that moving home is a very stressful time and a trial period can be arranged to ease the stress.

 

Bus trips

At Benbradagh we go on regular outings with the residents which they really enjoy. The latest of our outings were to the dogs trust and ballymena and a vintage rally held nearby. It is the residents own choice whether to go, some perfer to stay behind.

 

Birthday's

Each resident's birthday is celebrated with a freshly baked cake and refreshments that evening.

 

Meal Times

BREAKFAST- 6am onwards

TEA & SCONE- 10am

DINNER- 1pm

TEA- 3pm

EVENING TEA- 5pm

SUPPER- 9pm

 

All meals are made fresh on the day of serving. We attempt to accommodate all likes and dislikes and will endeavour to attend to any dietary requirements such as diabetes. The scones are freshly baked each morning.

 

Hairdresser

The ladies of the home have their hair set once a week by staff after their shower/bath. The home also have a hair dresser which visits when required.

 

Worship

Services are held in the home monthly which the residents find very enjoyable. Some of the residents recieve holy communion each Sunday.

 

Chiropodist

The Chiropodist employed by the Health Board visits the Home, however, should residents feel they would like chiropody more often than available they may arrange for a private Chiropodist to visit through a private arrangement at their own expense.

 

Optician / Dentist

The local Dentist and Opticians will carry out domiciliary visits to the Centre to carry out any treatment as necessary.

 

Doctor

Your family Doctor will continue to care for you, visiting you in the Home if necessary. If you have moved outside your Doctor's area, it may be necessary for you to register with another Doctor. If this is required, we will discuss the matter fully with you and/or your family.

 

Designated Smoking

For the respect of all residents and safety regulations, there is a designated smoking area at the side of the building which residents use at their leisure.
